Annual dues for 2009-2010 are $108.

Owners of all homes and properties in Austin's Colony are required to pay the annual dues.

By far, the biggest expense for the association is the maintenance of the grass and landscaping on Austin's Colony Parkway. Other expenses include the neighborhood newsletter (A.C. Connection), supplies for corresponding, power to run the irrigation and monument light, water to irrigate the Parkway, Web site costs, flags, and other miscellaneous expenses.

You will receive a past due notice in the mail. Dues that go unpaid accrue interest. The covenants and restrictions (C&Rs) allow a lien to be placed on properties that do not pay their dues (see section 37(j) of the C&Rs for more information).

Nine homeowners serve on the board. Directors are elected at the annual meeting of the association. This meeting is held in September. Members are elected to two-year terms (staggered). If you are interested in serving on the board, please contact the current board president.

Absolutely. Board meetings are open to all residents and homeowners of Austin's Colony. If you wish to address to board about a particular issue, please contact the current board president several days prior to the meeting. The board typically meets on the first Tuesday of the month at 6:30 at Harvey Mitchell Elementary. However, please check the calendar because sometimes the meeting is shifted a week due to holidays or other events.

Items that violate the neighborhood covenant and restrictions (C&Rs) should be reported to any member of the board of directors. For your convenience, you can report a violation through the web site. Examples of violations might include: lack of yard maintenance, unsightly vehicles, poor house upkeep, and temporary structures.

Items that violate city codes and ordinances should be reported to the City of Bryan. Examples of violations might include: barking dogs, noisy neighbors, speeding vehicles, suspicious activities, vandalism, and criminal violations.
